Born and raised in rural Minnesota, he started drawing
at a young age. One of the things he enjoys most about his art is
going out into nature and gathering experiences that will later
be brushed onto canvas. Jason also has a love for simpler times
that are long since gone; old barns, still life paintings with hand-sewn
bunnies and flowers and other subjects express this longing for
Jason now makes his home in south central Pennsylvania,
with his wife Becky and young children.
Recent awards for Jason include:
Best of Show, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, People's Choice and 1st Place-Quick Draw at Plein Air Camp Hill, Best Architectural Painting and the Vanishing Landscape award at Plein Air Easton, VIP Best of Show at the Waterfowl Festival, The Utretch Award at the Cumberland Society of Painters Annual Exhibition, Best of Show in the Contemporary Fine Art International Miniature Juried Show, the Western Art Collector Magazine Editor's Choice Award, and the Evelyn & Peter Haller Distinguished Young Artist Award.
