About the artist:
"I am a Pennsylvania-based artist living among the beauty of the Susquehanna River and Blue Mountains. Throughout childhood I was constantly drawing, and with family encouragement joined my first group art class at the age of 12. Discovering a love of pastels, I underwent private lessons for six years. During this time, I placed and won several youth art contests including the Ned Smith Center contest, the Hunters' and Anglers' contest, the Game Commission contest and the Congressional Art Competition, for which my work was displayed in the Cannon Tunnel in the U.S. Capital for one year. I started my own painting business at age 16, focusing on pet portraits.
Throughout the years I grew to love a multitude of mediums, eventually teaching myself effective usage of ink, graphite and acrylics. Animals and nature fascinate me and I undergo substantial research when beginning a new painting in order to ensure natural accuracy of my subject and pose, while endeavoring to add my own style and warmth to the piece. I believe that God's Creation is beautiful and it is my honor to paint it. I am excited to continue my artistic journey and blessed with the opportunity to pursue my passion." |
