Williamsburg to Yorktown - the end of the Rochembeau Trail
by Pamela Patrick White

About the painting:

The Revolutionary War is coming to a head in the colonies. The British Army, led by Lord Cornwallis, is entrenched on Yorktown, Virginia, a few miles from Williamsburg. A large force of Continental soldiers and their French allies are now heading out of town to an uncertain battle, being led by Washington, Lafayette, and Rochembeau. The army has come a long way for this engagement, most having just marched several hundred miles from Rhode Island.
