Among these early Scottish Regiments was the 77th. They served in Pennsylvania in 1758 under General Forbes and were the bulk of the British forces at the battle known as Grant's Defeat (present day Pittsburgh). Five years later, following the Battle of Bushy Run, the 77th returns to Pittsburgh, the burial site of Grant's soldiers. Here two Highlanders pay their last respects to a fallen comrade.
